Never assume a firearm is unloaded. Verify its condition safely.
Maintain muzzle awareness and control at all times.
Keep your finger straight and outside the trigger guard until ready.
Identify your target, surroundings, and potential hazards.

FIREARMS LAWS & OWNERSHIP
Know the law. Respect the firearm. Own the responsibility. Responsible ownership begins with education and legal awareness.
Purchases require valid identification, applicable licenses, accurate documentation, and required background-check approval.
Handgun possession generally requires a NY license. Carry privileges, training, and restrictions depend on the license and applicable law.
Acquiring a semiautomatic rifle generally requires a NY license and a minimum age of 21, subject to applicable exceptions.
Covered firearm and ammunition transactions require background checks and applicable approvals.
Prevent unauthorized access. Follow NY storage requirements, especially where minors or prohibited persons reside.
Follow applicable transport laws. Unattended firearms in vehicles generally must be unloaded and secured in a qualifying locked container concealed from view.
A concealed carry license does not permit carrying everywhere. Verify current location restrictions, exceptions, and court rulings.
